Who are you working for

12/12/2019

Interesting illustration
I was confronted by a father who told me "I don't know if
I want my child to go into full-time service"

I was taken back because I thought all Christian parents wanted
their children to be used of God .

I asked him.  "
Who would you rather your child work for?"
1. A lost employer that has no interest in spiritual  things.
2. God, who has promised to supply all our needs according to
his riches in Glory by Christ Jesus?

I know that all children are not going to go into full-time service
but, why would a parent not want them to serve the Lord?

IRELAND
What a wonderful time to be in Ireland!
We were able to preach for Bible Baptist Church in Ballingcollig for Criag Ledbetter. A wonderful people and hungry for the Word of God. We had a Sunday & Wednesday services and the people responded to the Word, I was able to do some door to door with the pastor and gave the Word of God to a 16 yr. old and 73 year old. Did some disciple ship classes as well.
River Valley Baptist Church in Maynooth with Pastor Zemenski. Worked on the buildings, visited with new possible members and preached  Thursday thru Sunday for their 13 Anniversary! One teen saved! He was not sure of his Salvation and readily prayed to accept Christ!. Met a Grad from Ambassador Baptist College named Garrett, who is visiting Ireland and planning on returning as a Missionary !
SCOTLAND
What a joy to be invited to N.Berwick(Bariac)  by Missionaries Dan & Jackie McCaskel. They have been in Scotland for over 30 years. They bought a beautiful church of Scotland building for L45,000 =80K. Remodeled the interior and what a wonderful friendly congregation. Had a chance to witness to a lady on the shore of the North Sea. She was a Humanist who said "We determine our own destiny" I was able to share with her what Jesus said, I am the Way the Truth and the Life, no man comes to the father but by me"
ENGLAND
We were with two churches that are without a Pastor. Faith Baptist in Laken Heath, UK. Primarily a  military church. Sweet spirit and receptive folks! The Caldwells took care of us and were a blessing. I had the privilege to witness to the staff at the Hotel. They have called a pastor who is in the states raising support!
We took a train through London and on to Brimpton Baptist Church, UK. What an exciting congregation ! I had really liberty to preach all day Sunday and at least 9 adults came forward and one of the Deacons said "God really spoke to hearts." Two visitors came on Sunday night who were invited. I witnessed to a Postman that said, "I am an Atheist" I told him God talked about Atheist, He said, "The fool hath said in his heart there is no God" He said, Well I guess I'm a fool" I told him Jesus loved him and wanted to save him! He smiled and off he went. I was able to invite him to church.
BELGIUM
What a joy to get reacquainted with our Missionaries Joe and Mary Mohler, who have been here 49 years. Their Daughter Lori and Son in Law  put us up and we had such a great time. Pray for Mary Mohler as she is in the hospital dealing with a kidney stone. Enjoyed preaching with Pastor Mohler translating. They have a special need a roof needs replacing and the church has produced all but 600 Euros $700.00 American. If you would like to help, send to Pastor Paul Shelton, Central Baptist Church Denton, Texas.

My Brother Pete picked us up in Nemur, Belgium and we traveled to The Netherlands/Holland where the Knickerbocker Ancestors are from (Friesland) We saw (the Hague) & Downtown Amsterdam. We passed out some tracts and witnessed to an employee of the Hotel name Judith. She was willing to received a tract with Sam Knickerbockers name on it.
FRANCE
Wonderful time visiting Jeremy and Damaris and their three boys Adam, Able and Anthony. We had a wonderful time visiting a monument to the those that gave their lives to rescue the French from the German forces in WW! 11k gave their lives.
We visited Jeremy and Emily and little Leo. Le Rochelle, Fr. They are serving in a new church plant one hour from their home. We took a tour of the history of the Huguenots in Le Rochelle. by Missionary Mark Nelson.
Pastor and Sister Bianco are serving the Lord in Marolles Sur Seine, Fr, Evangelical Baptist Church. Had a wonderful time preaching for them.

Preached at Bible Baptist Church in Orleans for Pete Knickerbocker on two Sunday afternoons. What a good group and spirit. They were so receptive. Anne gave her testimony and I preached on Stewardship and Examining yourself to prove you are saved!

We went to Camp Rainbow in Laroode, Fr where my Brother Tim and Elizabeth are serving the Lord by directing a camp. They have worked very hard remodeling the camp building to bring it up to code so it can be occupied. I had the joy of preaching in a church he is helping. I preached on Seven Evidences you are Saved. It helped one of the men in the church that had been involved in evangelism but had never led a soul to Christ from that message God gave him understanding to lead his first soul. He was in tears of joy after leading his first souls to Christ! We were able to send an afternoon working on the camp breaking up a concrete sidewalk.

We traveled to the Mediterranean in south France to preach for Tim and Elizebeth's son in law Pastor Adrian and my niece Esther. We had a great service with 4 coming forward for  prayer and on to receive assurance of Salvation. We had a wonderful fellowship with family.

Preached for Central Baptist in Paris, France. They are without a Pastor. What a great group of people that are trusting the Lord and faithful during this time.

We visited Missionary Bill and Ellie Hansen who is pastoring a church he started 23 years ago. What a wonderful group of people. I challenged them on Christian living out of Act 4 ! They said, "It was just what their church needed." Ellie's sister, Carol married my Dad and was a loving caring wife till his home going!

We completed our trip, by preaching for my nephew Sam Knickerbocker at First State Baptist Church in Wilmington, Del ,on our return from Europe.
We will be in Texas till the end of the year! AMEN! Great to be home!

Your friends in Ministry,
Dan & AnneMarie
Knickerbocker

MUCH PEOPLE in this city

Where were you when you got saved? Sitting in a rocking chair In the living room of our cottage on Round Lake in Sonora, NY
Who led you to Christ? My father said to me. "I see no evidence that you are saved." I thought, I see no evidence either. I got my Bible and led myself to Salvation in Jesus Christ.
If you don't remember where u were and you can't remember anyone helping you to see your need of salvation I would seriously ask myself the question, Am I Saved?
In the book of Act 18:4-5 God gives the only plan for reaching the souls of men for Jesus Christ.
We are to be pressed(led) in the Spirit to...

1. Reason with people - we must get people lost so they can be saved, most people know little to nothing of their condition before God. You may need to go back to Genesis to show them the fall of man and their need for a Saviour.

2. Persuade people - knowing the terror of the Lord we persuade men. It is either heaven or hell for eternity and they need to be encouraged to make a decision for Christ before it is to eternally to late.

3. Testify to people- give your testimony how you ...

1.Realize you were a sinner, lost and in need of the Savior, Jesus. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth and the life no man cometh to the Father but by me.
2. Repent of your sins ,by having a godly sorrow for sin, asking the Lord Jesus to forgive you.
3. Receive Jesus into your life by faith. Asking him to save your soul for eternity and become Lord of your life.
4. Rejoice that what he had promised he would also preform.
He is there to lead, guide and direct you by His Spirit in your new life in Christ
Often in my witnessing I will ask the person who has just told me they are a Baptist or Catholic or Methodist, Are you a saved Baptist or a lost Baptist? If they are saved they will answer immediately, affirming they are saved.
If they are not, they won't understand what your saying. This immediately helps you to know how to give them the gospel.
It is important to carry tracts so you can leave them with the message of Salvation. A man who picked up a tract in a Deli, while hiking on a Sunday morning, put the tract in his dresser drawer and two years later was cleaning out the drawer, came to our church. After visiting with him on two occasions He accepted Jesus Christ!

What should happen after you receive Christ?
Follow the Lord in believers baptism
Join a good Bible believing church
Get involved in sharing your faith with others
so they can enjoy Christ as their Saviour too!

What about the Independent Baptist Movement?

7/7/2017

Quote from the Book “Times of Refreshing
by J. Edwin Orr 1936 pg.66

In the Evangelical camp itself there is good cooperation between people of various denomination (because of the gospel), but there is also petty jealousy between some leaders, breaches which are known to the majority of Christian people, which hinder and hurt the work of God. Why they occur one cannot say.

But if the parties concerned were anxious for an awakening, they would not hesitate to proclaim aloud their unity instead of allowing their disunity to be whispered around.

I declare that the Independent Baptist Movement has the same problem,  If we are going to see real genuine revival in our lifetime we must see a uniting of the different parties of our Independent Baptist Movement.

Things that could happen to see real revival in
the Independent Baptist movement!

1. Pastors who fellowship and pray together will understand that we are all working for the same thing "The Gospel"  We will see great things happen.

2. It starts by encourage each other and attend each others meetings and encourage your churches to as well.

3. Have united Revival meeting together.
Illustrate: If there are  churches in driving distance support who ever is having revival and this will bring a spirit of expectancy and visible results.
It will cause your people to not feel like they are the only one out there.

4. We must lay aside our petty (not doctrinal) differences for the gospel sake and revival.
ILL. What happened in the Burlington Revival was a result of one church praying for revival for 15 years and then it grew to including other churches, resulting in a revival of over 3,000 plus with many saved and revived.

5. We must not be jealous of other preachers, churches, colleges or others that don't necessarily agree with us on everything and who may have great ideas that we didn't think of.    more to come....
DDK
The IBM has it's differences
1.  Music
2.  Standards
3.  Bible Versions
Some criticize for being to strict (LEGALISTIC)
Some Criticize for being to loose (COMPROMISING)

What is the balance?  A false balance is an abomination but a just weight is his delight Proverbs 11:1

Work with those that are of like faith and practice but let's be careful about doing nothing to get the gospel out
collectively. Two are better than one.  There is strength in numbers.

When you think of some of the apparent leaders of the Independent Baptist Churches in America they are dividing us not strengthening us.  The result:  Turning the young preachers off and sending them away. It is hurting the Gospel.

In my life time, I have never seen the IBM more divided. It is shrinking. We should be in the state of Revival working together to get the gospel out and seeing miracles of lives won! - DDK

Things we can do together -
Prayer meetings, Tent & City-wide Crusades,
Church Planting, Gospel Distribution, Revival meeting

Two Things most Independent Baptist won't do

9/15/2016

Why don't Independent Baptist work in Teams
Ecclesiastes 2:9 Two are better than one because they have a good reward for their labour. For if the one fall the other shall lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth for he hath not another to help him up.
Acts 13: 2 The church at Antioch, Separate me Barnabas and Paul for the work whereunto I have called them.
Acts 13:43 Paul and Barnabas persuaded them to continue in the grace of God.
Acts 13:47 Paul and Barnabas waxed bold.

Paul and Barnabas, Paul and Silas, Barnabas and John Mark  Two by Two. When a Man of God starts a church he often goes on deputation and raises support and heads to a City or Town to start a church. He is alone. there is no encouragement  but from people who are not there and don't know what they are going thru. He often is not motivated and there is not organization and accountability. There is a way to accomplish the work of God much quicker if there are two helping each other than one doing it alone. A man of God who is called of God must start asking the Lord to call a couple to work with him in starting a church. We call him the second man, Assistant, a laborer to help and there are many great things that advance growth quickly
1. Two families beginning verses one
2. Young families with children encourage families with children
3. The Assistant can be the treasurer, song leader, usher, help clean, help visit etc.
4. They can visit together, Pray together, Each knows his place and they ask God for a unified spirit.
God help us to get back to Bible principles of Church starting and growth!
Think of...
D.L. Moody - Ira Sankey
R.A. Torrey - Alexander
Billy Sunday - Rodeheaver
Some of the most long term preachers have started with help!

Why aren't we sending our High School Graduates to foreign fields to Train?
Pick your Choice for the future of the Next Generation Missionary
Plan A
1. Send your students off to Bible College for 4 years for Bachelors and 1 year for Masters
2. Send them to work in local church  for 1 year to gain experience
3. Send them out on Deputation for 3 years to get their support
4. Send them to Language school for 1 year to learn the language
5. Now they can begin being a missionary and starting a church
Total years till they become a missionary 10 years

Plan B ...that almost does not exist.
1. Send them on Missions trips while in High school. God may call them.
2. Have them raise support in their Senior year and leave right after graduation.
3. Send them to work with a recommended Missionary or College in the country where they feel called.
4. They can learn the language in the summer of their first year.
5. Begin their first semester and on weekends be missionaries and help start churches immediately.

Total years till they become a missionary  (immediately)

I know this would not apply to some but to serious students that have had local
church experience throughout their high school years could fit into this kind of setting.

Praying for the Jews and Gentiles as well

7/9/2016

For more than 20 centuries the Jews have been living in a world fired by a religion which was cradled by them.
After all,
Christ was a Jew,
His followers were Jews,
The New Testament was written by Jews.

Palestine, the land of the Jews was the place which sprang the faith of over 2.18 billion people of today Dare the Jews assert that 2.18 billion people are demented and that they, 14.1million Jews are sane? Does it not strike the Jews rather strange that the Jew, Jesus of Nazareth should have superseded the national heroes of every civilized land towering far above George Washington or Abe Lincoln looms Jesus the Jew, in the estimation of the people of America greater than Shakespeare or Darwin, is the significance of Jesus.

To the people of England rising higher than Zola or Clemenceau,  Jesus in the veneration of the French people. Destiny wills it that the Jews should live among Christians, even in Palestine, in the new nation of Israel today.

They look to the United States and Britain for help and advice yet England's priceless cathedrals have immortalized not her kings and statesman but him who was born king of the Jews. America has been made great because she was founded upon the Bible and because she has permitted the Christ of the Bible to be proclaimed!

Jesus said," I am the way the truth and the life no man comes to the father but by me." St. John 14:6

Realize you're a sinner.
Repent of your sins.
Received the Lord Jesus Christ into your heart
Rejoice that your name is in heaven and
live for Jesus your Savior !

I'm Concerned about the direction this Generation is taking

Dear Friends,

What is happening to this generation?

So many of this generation are wanting to do as they please and excuse themselves from the way in which they were raised .
1. Some leave the church all together. Marry lost people, get tattoos and piercings, live just like the lost.No evidence of Salvation in their lives.
2. Some go to churches that are progressive with rock style music, no Sunday school program, no commitment to tithes and offering, it appears they just want to be entertained.
3. Some want to start churches that allow about everything and do not stand for anything.
4. Some have eliminated Sunday evenings, even Sunday school, allowing anyone to join from any church that claims they are Born again and have been baptized in any church. Not protecting their doctrinal position on clear teaching.
5. Some, it appears, want to prove to their parents generation that they can do what they want and still accomplish maybe even more than their parents did.
6. Some give up Soul-winning and passing out tract
7. Some give up their standards of:  modesty in dress , Christ honoring music, and the Bible version they were raised with and accepting new doctrine.
8. Some say their parents and pastors are legalist.  ( not in relation to Salvation but standards)
9. Some have started attending movies, drinking, dancing, gambling, missing church when it is not convenient.
10. Very critical of those that take a stand and have no problem belittling their old- fashioned standards.

I understand that we may have given them reason by our inconsistency , critical spirit, gossip, do as I  say not as I do, over eating, allowing debt,  not living by faith, not seeing miracles of God's power in our generation.
I thought the next Generation should learn from our mistakes and be better Christians than their parent but it is the opposite.

What we are seeing
1st Generation fights the good fight of Faith
2nd Generation enjoys the spoil
3rd Generation Sells out to the enemy

I appreciated the stand my father took against sin and compromise! However, at first I chafed against it. I justified compromising preachers and it really bothered my Mom and Dad. They said, "We did not raise you that way." I thought well look at the good their doing and the crowds etc. The more I researched the compromise the more I realized my dad was right I had drifted a bit and My Dad made it clear to me that if I  continued justifying compromise they would not fellowship with me till I got right ( I must say, I guess my Dad knew which buttons to push and I'm glad he had the nerve to do it.  It made me a better Christian and Pastor and I hope Father.

Concerned about the direction this generation is taking,

Dan Knickerbocker

Are The Days of Revival Coming to An End?

1/24/2016

Pastors have been getting away from  Revival meetings.
Years ago,  a meeting was planned to go as long as it took. Some times they would go for weeks.
Billy Sunday had  meetings in Boston and New York City  that lasted  up to 10-12 weeks.
Then came One month then Two-Week meetings
Then the One -Week,  Sunday to Sunday meetings
Then the Sunday thru Friday meetings
Then the Sunday thru Wednesday meetings
Then the Friday-Sunday meetings  ( The Weak-end Revival)
Then Revival  Sunday
Then no Revival meeting all year long.
And we wonder where God’s power went?
Ask the Lord to help you have a Revival.
If you can’t afford it you need to have one. Take offerings on Wednesdays to prepare financially for it.
Have cottage prayer meeting a month before the meeting!
Work at inviting  the lost and backsliders as well.
Any Evangelist should be willing to come without the promise of a Love offering! Do what you can to take care of the Evangelist expenses but never let the cost keep you from having revival! Some Evangelist are supported by churches to make it possible to go to the churches that are struggling!
